Title: My Fug started!

MrMunster - March 27, 2010 07:07 PM (GMT)
Whey Hey..... For the first time since I bought the car back in 2004 it finally started!!!

Having pulled it apart the moment I got it, stripped the frame back to bare metal, resprayed it, built a new interior, rewired it, replaced the carbs and a lot of the ignition system, realised the starter motor was the problem and had it fixed............put it back on this afternoon and pushed the start button!!!

A few turns of the engine later....It fired up :D

I'm soooooooo happy, just need to fit the seats, rear wheel arches, get a bonnet, and when the back plate for the rear drum gets here, finish rebuilding the brakes. paint up the bonnet and arches and get an MOT

Then I can drive it!! hmmm could be a while yet

But it runs!!! :D

Cheers guys, was a moment of pure joy :D

And yes I am hoping to have it on the road for summer, mind you, I've been saying that since I got it and still have that small list of stuff to do! But not withstanding the lack of a bonnet and the back plate I still hope to finish this year.

And Knighty, that does mean you can drive mine!!

will sort a pic out soon

By the way, the Land Rover was me being side tracked over winter! (don't worry, it's not a real one, only 1/6th scale)

The Fug looks brilliant you must be pleased with the result of all the hard work. I have just started on rebuilding mine, I hope it turns out half as good as yours.

Thanks mate, I must admit there has been a bit of swearing and moments when I wondered why I started but others when it was "oh yes B)"

Worth the effort and you will reep the rewards, good luck and enjoy yours ;)
