Title: Tall people in a Fug

awattam - May 22, 2010 06:54 AM (GMT)
Hi, this is my first post :D I'm just starting to look for a Fug but have concerns about actually being able to fit into it! I'm 6'6" but a slim build and have never had the opportunity to have a sit in one. How are they for legroom and headroom and how adjustable are they?

I've no problem moving seat mounts and fitting different seats but if there's not physicaly room then I guess I'd better look at a different car :(

Hi,
Reckon I can help with this one. I'm 6'4", and spend a fair bit of time up the gym, so although not fat I'm still 16stone. Anyway, I have the seat is right back and the peddles right forward, still have 10gallon tank in the front, so not silly forward. If your heigh is more leg than body proportionate, you'll be fine, if it's not you can drop the floor a little and have a buggy type seat. You won't have headroom with a conventional car seat, but they look as rubbish with these as they do with the top tubes raised, so that's no hardship. I find elbow room an issue if I have a passinger in it who's either tall or politically incorrect fat. To save you wasting too much time, see if you can get in an Elise, Westfield or MG Midget, if you just about can, you're in the same ball park.

I'm 6'3, 15 1/2 stone and fit no probs, I have the pedals way forward, the seats bolted straight to the floor (the original uva seats) and at the furthest back I can get them, in and out of the fug no probs, I did switch the steering wheel though to 12inch sports wheel to just to make it a little easier to slide in and out of it. Loads of head room. Should be no probs. I went and saw a few first and tried them out. I think aftermarket bucket seats on runners can cause issues with us bigger chaps.

Thanks for the replies chaps, sounds like I'd have a chance of fitting then. I've not sat in one yet and am struggling to find much of a choice of cars for sale TBH. Will keep an eye out on here and on ebay though and hope that something comes up :)

Mine's for sale, and you'd get in that with no alterations.....It's also 2ltr, t&t and properly registered....Have a look in the gallary and see if it's any use to you....
