Wondering wheather I really want to spend time and effort sorting out all the little "lacks of knowledge" that seem to be built into most kit cars. I thought maybe I should just bite the bullit and buy a new factory built Westfield Duratec. I have a look on the website, choose what I want, and I'm ready to give them a ring, so far so good. The response I get is, we don't have a Duratec here, and it'll be at least 12weeks to build one, we'll have a ring about and see if we can locate a demonstrator and get back to you. After a couple of weeks, I've heard nothing, so I ring the TVR centre in Herts (one of their dealerships), to see if I can get better service. From them I get typical prestige car dealer service, but there not really bothered as they only do a few Westfields, it seems they've actually sold one. They then tell me that now they can sell Westfield direct into Europe, they're concentrating on that. So, I give Caterham a call, they really are worlds apart, knowledge, service, communication skills the lot. I know Caterham are better built, and hold their money far better, but I really didn't want to pay Caterham money if I'm honest, but I think it'll be worth the extra in the long run though.
