What do you mean by 'small'?

Paul - mount the fuel tank over the engine, f*&king hell mate......do you have a death wish????.......you must be nuts to even be considering doing that........do yourself a big favour and mount it on the floor either behind the rear seats, or next to the pedals up front, like most standard fugs........
Phone Big-boys-toys on 0845 2300101 in Essex (next to Ikea in Lakeside) on page 27 of their air cooled catalogue they do a very good range of 8" and 10" diameter spun-ali fuel tanks, in either end or centre fill, 11 types available 16" to 33" long, 5 to 11 gallon, prices range from £89 to £110.......specially for buggies and trikes.........sounds just what you are looking for!!!!
do you want to sell your fug-4 body panels or not :( .....hows the build of your fug-4 coming along???......pics would be good ;)
cheers

I must admit I assumed that he meant over the transaxle........
I was also wondering if he was after one of those teeny tiny tanks that the drag racers use.

Knighty,
I did respond to your post on panels. Make me an offer!
And, no, I didn't really mean over the engine - just behind the seats/over the axle.
Small = maybe couple/three gallons or so - enough for a reasonable session off road.
I'll check out the Big-Boys Toys web site - so thanks for the info.
Progress with rebuild is slow. Work/House extension etc - you know the score!!
regards
Paul

If it's a small tank for off-road only then the thing to do is to try a yacht chandlers - they have things like this:
http://marinestore.co.uk/Merchant2/merchan...rch_Begin_Only=and this
http://marinestore.co.uk/Merchant2/merchan...rch_Begin_Only=that are designed to be removable for transport / filling / security etc.
They probably wouldn't be legal on-road though.

Yacht chandlers are cool for all sorts of stuff for kit cars by the way. And most of it's corrosion resistant too.

Dave
my petrol tank is a Bass Charrington beer keg the MOT guy seem to think it was OK. So Iguess they wouldn't moan for something designed to take petrol.
Even said the slight weep was execetable but I have fixed that.
I need more weight at the front now as it's getting it's front wheels up now.
