Title: OK I'm here....
Le Mans Man - December 15, 2004 01:54 PM (GMT)
Ok chaps that is me registered...better to get in before the rush. Just to let you know who I am....
Q. Who am I?
A. Adrian, Southampton based, the original Fugitive enthusiast, and genuine nutcase. Liable to offend anybody at anytime without provocation or realisation.
Q. Can you back up that claim?
A. Owned the same Fugitive 4 since September 1990, was the first person to answer John's letter in Which Kit (Christmas ish 1990) asking for other owners to contact him.
Q. Nutcase?
A. err yeah - went to Le Mans in 1998 in a Fugitive (and every year since) but that was me and a mate with no support crew, drove back with no front brakes didn't stop me racing a TVR Griffith through Le Havre. Had been in '97 in a SWB deisel Land Rover. Hosted Chris at Le Mans 2004, he could have been a gay axe murderer but was actually a top bloke.
Q. What do you do?
A. Organise a trip for Fugitive drivers and various long suffering passengers to Le Mans every year.
Q. Tip for the day?
A. If you want to go to Le Mans in 2005 then let me know now, either on here or mail me, fugitive4000@hotmail.com
Q. Any Final comments?
A. Yeah - my Fug was the only "club" car at Le Mans for the last 2 years, come on chaps we could do better in 2005.
Cheers! Adrian.

Hi,
I'll join this as well.....
Who :What :- Owned my Fugitive 4 since around 1997, during which time it's spent nearly as much time dead as working . It is currently in a definately "not working" state following it's last run to Le Mans and at the moment is edging towards an engine swap.
- Built www.fugitives.co.uk back when John was running the owners club and occasionally maintain it ;). Recently set-up this forum to complement it after a few requests from Knighty
- Have made the Le Mans trips with Adrian for the last 4 or 5 years, sometimes in the Fug although it has a tendency to try and leave bits of iteself across France.
- Used to attend quite a few of the UK Kit Car shows (Chatham/Detling, Stoneleigh and Newark) and if the car ever runs again will start again!

Close, mine's a yellow F4 - early ish (1987) chassis from UVA so it isn't as tall as the later F4's...1600cc VW unit down the back, think it might be a 2 stroke as it uses so much oil. Runs on 185/14's at the front, which are quite new and grippy and 205/15's at the back end which are 17ish years old a bit hard and therefore help for sliding the back end around corners. There are pictures of the car on www.fugitives.co.uk and I will get some on here one day...Le Mans in a Fug isn't too bad, this year we were there for 8 days, took down 2 tents, a gazeebo, dining table, chairs, cooker, barbeque, kit and personal items....all fitted in the Fug no problem, only 2 to 3 hours to cruise down there.
Cheers! Adrian.

wicked ;) ....you both have 4's......now are you gonna post pictures..... ......it only takes a few minutes to do.....
must admit I'm warming to the idea of le-mans......I'm moving house this year so time will be tight.....
sounds like we should all meet up in blighty in the summer and go for a blast and beer.....preferably more of the latter......or perhaps all meet up at a kit car show......thats assuming paul gets his motor sorted......nows the time of year to plan for the summer bud B)

hey that looks just like mine!.....low riding and yellow......not too sure about the tiger stripes on the front wheel arch though!.......out of curiosity how well does that front screen work when driving your fug?.....does it keep the wind out of your face?.....
the previous owner of my fug fitted a full laminated glass screen, and to cut a long story short it now looks like an invalid-mobile......looks frickin hideous :ph43r: ......how well does yours work?.......do you have a wiper fitted......if not, is this OK on an MOT?.....
Le Mans Man - January 14, 2005 09:37 AM (GMT)
The tiger stripes look really cool - okay so they were an idea bread of Stella Artois and gaffer tape the night before "run to the sun" a couple of years back (2002?) remeber the next couple of days well drove from Southampton to Stratford upon Avon for a wedding (not mine) got a bit tipsy, drove on a bank holiday saturday from there to Newquay - straight down the M5 passed Bristol, in the longest traffic jam known to man in a car that doesn't like ticking over without a roof in blazing sunshine with the hang over from hell. However later on that day the blast down the North Cornwall coast raod made it all worth while.
The windscreen is just a bit of perspex zip tied and gaffer taped into place kinda keeps the wind off if you are hunkered down, but sitting upright means you get the full force, you don't need wipers or washers with it which is a bonus at MOT times. Used to run a full screen and weather gear but it was too much trouble, I kinda figure you don't take the car out in the rain unless you have to (Le Mans 2001!) so why bother, if it rains you get wet but you get dry again - also you can (and I have) worn bike gear and a lid in the car when its wet - no worries.
cheers! Adrian.
