Title: Rev counter sensor/plug thingy

Where on a VW 1600 TP is the sender for the rev counter ??

There is a sender/sensor plug near to the distibutor mounting, is that it ??

If so, how do you connect the rev counter up, surely it's not as simple as runing a wire from the back of the rev counter to the sensor ??

This might be old news now....

You didn't get Rev counters in aircooled VW's so you need to get a Rev counter that will connect to the pos+ side of the coil. The VDO ones do this.

The sensor coming out of the case just below the Dissy is the low oil pressure sensor, if you are using a VW loom it will be the green wire that was in the bunch feeding the igniton and the genny.

Again sorry if you already found this out ....I'm still quite excited by all this new forum stuff....been in the shed for the last 15 years :D

That'll explain why the thing isn't connected up then. I'll have a look at the one fitted and go from there.....Bo%@oks !!!
