Title: in-tank fuel level gadget recomendations please
Description: level meter

Knighty - July 23, 2006 12:57 PM (GMT)
my fuel level sensor that is mounted in my UVA fuel tank has broken both the electrical terminals off, and its fixed in place with what looks like plummers putty - which needless to say makes it look shite.......can anyone reccomend a new fuel level sensor that will fit in place of the old one?.......

do they all emmit the same output signal/voltage?.......or will I need a new gauge too?......

Afternoon..

Depends on the type of gauge you have?

Two types : Damped and undamped. For example the VDO ones are as follows :-

The damped sender unit is a float on a arm whereas the undamped is a pinpon ball in a tube. Both come in a variety of lengths. UVA were users of the VDO stuff so I can only assume yours is somewhere here. Unless they used a VW varient on the same theme. For example the later Vans used a sender unit that snapped in on a baynet fitting ??? However if this is the case it will have a part no. on it? B)
