welcome welcome welcome
I have no idea but though it rude to ignore your post
Anything is possible depends on your mechanical bent
UVA did produce six F32 which was a ford v6 engined jobie
probably hanging out the back of the beetle box though.
Have alook on some sand rail site in the states as there are quite a few with mid mounted v6
There is a post on here of quite a nice one mid mounted v6/v8

did the scorpios have FWD gearboxes? - I thought they were all rear wheel drive?....are you sure a scorpio fwd gearbox is available???.......heres what I'm thinking on how to do it, 2 ways
1) the cheaper easy option......rear mounted in a fug-2 on an adaptor plate to a beetle gearbox.......but this will make the rear of the car VERY heavy and it will handle like a boat.......depends what you want to do with it really? off road or low riding street race like mine and tiggars........gearbox straps will be a must!
2) mid mounted in a fug-4.......to do this you will need to perform major surgery on the chassis, and equip yourself with either a flipped over beetle gearbox......a scorpio fwd box that I didnt know existed - do they?......or a renault van box (yuk)........or the Porsche G50 box - rare and expensive.
either way its gonna be fun in the back of a fug........I'd say go for option number 1 as fug-4 chassis are now as rare as rocking horse do-doo's.......but make every effort you can to put everything possible, like the rads, battery and fuel tank, in the front/nose of the fug-2 in order to have a half sensible weight distribution.
hope that helps

A friend had an Audi 80 sport, I'm pretty sure that was FWD with a front-to-back engine, so whatever gearbox they use could be used to...
Would a Fug 2 have enough room to have the engine in front of the rear axle and still have room to sit it?
Steve
p.s. Welcome!

yup audi and VW used front-to-back (longitudinal) engine installations with FWD for quite a few years, my 97 diesel passat :ph43r: has exactly this.......but I was not aware the ford-scorpio did this :( .......sure the vw/audi box could also be used in a mid mounted fug-4 - but I think you would need to make your own adaptor plate assembly as I dont think it would be available off the shelf - but I'm open to be proven wrong!

pretty sure all scorpios including the cossie were a conventional front engined rear wheel drive design ;)
