Title: How does an idiot post photos?
Bailey - February 22, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
Sorry in advance, can't work out how to post images, reading Paul's guidelines in the gallery, it says one option for small images is to use the "add file" button further down the page, I've looked & looked & can't see it.
Or is it just the fact I'm totally fuggin useless with computers ?

Bailey - go the photo bucket method, as described in the link below - its really simple.......just download your pictures on www.photobucket.com and cut and past the .IMG file into your text on the fug forum post - easy!
http://z7.invisionfree.com/Fugitive_Forums...hp?showtopic=15if you cant do it, just e-mail them to me and I'll do it for you.......mag will be posted within the next week - just gotta dig it out of my loft!

Having never been an idiot I may be at a disadvantage but... ;)
The reason you can't find the option to "Add File" is because it doesn't exist anymore. Therefore the best bet for you would be to upload images to a public site such as
http://photobucket.com/ or
http://imageshack.us/ etc. and then link to the photos you upload there using the "IMG" button you can see when you write a post.
You'll need to type in whats called the URL of the file or full internet address or link location as some people know it by.
There is a section at the bottom of the forum for testing so try posting in there and see how you get on. Any problems post again for advice.

AO:
Still there on mine, see attached photo showing where to attach photos from!
It's actually called "You may attach a file to this message" and lives just below the bit where you type a message. Press the browse button in the highlighted bit, select an image on your computer and the file gets attached to the post as a clickable thumbnail.
The main advantage of this method over hosting it remotely is that it's stored within the forum, one member recently has already lost photos stored on a third party site.
Bailey : You can mail them to me if you want, I've got Rutger's photos to add to the main site (bit of a revamp planned on the way it shows photos as well) and can add yours at the same time.
Cheers
Paul

Well it's not there on mine so maybe thats why some people are struggling to find it?

AO : Have a gold star!
F***ing board! This is posted from my test (non Administrator) account and you are 100% right.
I have no idea why non Admins can't post files, I'll see if it's down to settings or whether the hosting company changed it.
Looks like another reason for trying to move the board in house.
Ta for letting me know.
Cheers
Paul

AO : Here's your star!
Hopefully all fixed now as it seems I can add a file now logged in as my test user.
Shout if you get a problem.

Paul, are the photos I've posted OK for you to use?, or do you need me to mail them to you ?
Paul - February 23, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
Bailey,
They're fine, I can copy them and include them on a page on the main site.
EDIT : Added to main site tonight
Cheers
Paul.
