Title: F33 demonstrator
Bailey - February 22, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
Pretty much as I found it, gained a silver stripe, frame painted body red (orange originally), tripod mirrors missing & K&N style filters(2 missing!?).
On the whole not in bad shape!

Can't be sure,as it was a long time ago,but I'm pretty sure that or at least one very similar was in the UVA newbury showroom when I went there to buy a Fug, 1987/87. It wasn't really the thing for me at that time, although I think it would be now :D all I remember is the fact it was massively expensive compared to the Fug,which was rather dear in itself come to think of it.

100bob - bearing in mind this is the UVA demonstrator - its probably the same car!.......looks like its been re-sprayed a darker colour red, you can just see the lighter colour red on the top rails........
Bailey - do you store it outside?........its looking in need of a bit of TLC!........but all the bits are there - will be a cracking car once back on the road
I dug the street machine mag out the loft last night........I'm getting there!
regarding those filters - it was originally fitted with a piper-cross foam filter........those individual cotton-gauze filters aint particularly great.......personally I'd put a 3-layer foam filter back on from pipercross or ITG, as they filter out all the nasty fine dust particles which polish ther bores........
when the car is eventually running - due to the dusty climate over there, just make sure you wash out the air filter and crank case filter from time to time, and re-oil the filters with the special spray, as the fine dust will polish the bores in no time and wreck the engine.......will be a real waste......but I dare say you know all that stuff!
so when are you gonna get stuck into it then?

Figured it had to be,just thought it had more bodywork around the engine, don't remember it being quite that open, still it was 20yrs ago. Reckon if UVA had had some really good customer service with the stuff they were building (especially 20yrs ago) now allow for progress and development, they'd still be going and up with the best.

Knighty, I'm pretty sure the paint is original, the frame was originally orange, as were the wheel centres, the lighter part on the frame is where hands have rubbed through the red & exposed the orange from climbing in & out.
The photo are "as Found"(2 years ago), hence all the dust, don't look much different now(slapped wrist).
The filters are total s$*@, many years of motorbikes,I have an idea what to look for in a filter, cheers for concern. Looking forward to the mag, I'll be able to verify more when I see the feature side by side with the car.
100bob, the motor is pretty well enclosed apart from the carb top area, see photo 2, photo 4,6 cover removed.

What was the reg of your F33
f33fan - May 4, 2007 06:56 PM (GMT)
its on a q plate
q900yrx
do you or anyone else have papers to prove the car being a F33 can-am
when I go for registration I like to have it on the registration here
caloun - May 4, 2007 10:45 PM (GMT)
Had a look at this today on one of the registration sites and all that registration brings up is the size of the engine 3500cc very odd.
What does the log book says ?
f33fan - December 19, 2009 12:33 PM (GMT)
It has been a while but as I am busy getting all my toy's registred over here in this country where laws and tax change every minute,I started working on the F33 to get it ready.
the RDW(dvla)says the car can now be registred as a Fugitive 33 can am or as an F33 can am or maybe fugitive F33 can am.
what should I choose?
I also discoverd there has been an engine change so the v5 has a wrong engine number on it.
I hope they will not give me a hassle because of that but in case of......
does anybody here know where the engine is build?and what bhp it has
I know the engine is originally a rangerover 3900 lump but its a bit quicker now.
are there any tuners who keep a record of engine numbers of rebuilds?
hope to get the car ready before 24h of le mans this year and drive it down and up.
Bailey - December 21, 2009 12:53 AM (GMT)
Probably of no help but my F33 is registered as-
make-- UVA
body type-- sports
tax class-- private/light goods
cc-- 3500
wheelplan-- 2-axle-rigid body
Plus date of registration, reg, chassis, engine number, & colour.
No mention of Fugitive, F33 or Can-Am.
