Just added a mini column, really simple with a minimal sized plastic box bit round the switch gear.
Also lots of reasonalbly prices aftermarket steering wheels to fit, from go-cart to huge sizes.

I'm using a 1302/1303 steering column because of the crosslinks at the end. and bearing at both ends.

lenghted it. and took off the original mounting and place it somewhere else on the column.

and with a crosslink you can place your steeringwheel/column under an angle.
hope you know what i try to say.

I've got the switches for lights and indicators on the little bit of dash that I have, it's about the size of a post card. It was done like that so they didn't get in the way while driving either hard offroad or with gloves on. It's also not a awkward as it sounds. Anyhow I live by the seaside where everyone's old and no one indicates anyway.

i meant to say column and not rack!!!! i am sure i have seen electric steering pumps though..those of you with a rear engined fug would not need such a system though. (i am guessing) i on the other hand found my steering on the f33 to be very heavy and just not feel right. will be looking into that over the rebuild.
