Title: Gearbox drive flange centre seal.

Ok the gearbox stuff continues ...

Today I finished cleaning up the box and primered it. That went fine, but while looking at the box I noticed the following knackered seal.

1. Is this the drive flange centre seal?

2. What is it sealing in - transmission oil?

3. Is the seal I've prised of the other box likely to hold or should I stick a new one in there?

Cheers

Paul

1 = yes

2 = yes

3 = you can use the old/other with some liquid-seal, best is a new one.
thought you can use them also from golf/rabbit

Cheers Rutger.

That's good, now I know what it is I know it's not expensive and can pick 2 up this week while the gearbox is still sitting on the bench.

I'd worked question 2 out before you replied as I identified the fluid leaking from the old box where I'd removed the seal :rolleyes:

Paul.
