Today I weighed the front suspension (removed from my fug)

It weighed 75Kg!

That was the front beams with ball joint arms, hubs, disks and calipers. (and stearign box), no wheels.

I figured it'd be fairly heavy,but when I picked mine up I could believe it. The front of the car must weigh about 10kg once the axle's off. Once you add the weight of the wheels to that I don't think moving the battery up front would make much difference. We've now made an 11gallon alloy fuel tank which lays flat across the front,central and as far forward as poss,so don't expect any probs.
