Title: Proper MOT
Description: Hazard lights

I have recently bought a fugitive 2, which is on a q plate registered in 92 and has been MOT’d before. However I am not sure how he come by his MOT’s!
The car has no way of operating hazard lights, the seats are made from wood covered with foam and are not fixed, but has the luxury of harnesses.
The Speedo is not connected and there are a few sharp edges around, apart from that it’s great!
I would just like to get it somewhere near MOTable before I even get near the test station.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

MOT's are a funny thing really,a car can look and drive like a big pile of rubbish but still legally pass one! This is not directed a your Fug in any way as I'm not entirely sure which is your's. (think it's the Ford engined alloy bodied one,am I right?) If so I rather liked it myself.
Anyway, I drove an auto once,of which the gear it showed it was in was different to the actual gear the box was in. Selecting drive actually made it go backwards, very dangerous, but not a point to fail on.
It's possible the guy you bought it off had access to MOT's,or he may have just taken a few bits off it over the time. Hazzards can wire in quite easily,if you're not sure wire a switch in each circuit,it doesn't say you can't do that I'm sure. A pair of Fiesta xr2 seats are really cheap and always look good,I've used them in a few things. Speedo doesn't come into a MOT and sharpe edges are a little confusing for testers unless it's raw and rusty bodywork, which you won't have. I'd bolt the seat to whatever's solid and take a chance. Strange thing to say,but make sure the tester actually knows what is and what isn't a fail,a lot will fail you on what they don't know or understand just to be on the safe side.

Thanks Bob, I’ve buried it in the garage at the mo as I’m doing the driveway, but I’ll post some pics up as soon as I get going.

I found when I was building mine that the MOT was wide open, especially on an older registration. For instance I went to a lot of trouble to secure my seats, (they flip up on a hinge at the front so you can store stuff behind) Didn't need to.....

....worth doing as I did and find a friendly MOT person whose willing to either phone up DVA or consult the 'blue book' for you on any issues you may have B)

An MOT is NOT an SVA, nuffin like it!!!!
