The word I am looking for begins with "F" and ryhmes with "duck"

...looks good - how much weight is needed to keep the front wheels on the road?

cheers! Adrian.

They really are a lovely looking engine, which was always a shame to be covered up,especially in a nasty old granada or Merc, think that's what they went in. It's not an engine I'd have ever thought of,that really was a good call on your part, just shows there are some really good engine choices out there that haven't been done a hundred times before! The only person I know who's fitted one put it in an MG ZA Magnet, old 50's looking thing, rather nice tho. Looks like it's going to fit well and tidy in a Fug,don't think for a second I could manage the wiring loom, not a strong point for me.
When is someone going to put a turbo'd Hayabusa engine in one tho, look at the Dax rush on Youtube and tell me it won't work. 500bhp and you can lift the engine with one hand.

cheers for the replies so far, gmacz, sold the vw engine to a guy in spain, via e-bay, got a fairly decent price for it which will help in this conversion.. ;)

100bob, thank you for the comment, went for the v6 cossie lump as looked into them, saw that they were good for around 200 horses out of the box and also tunable for a few more. I have to be honest tho the main reason was for the look of them with the badge on each bank, with the right colours, and pipes it should look sweet. :)
Did look down the bike engine route but thought it would look lost in the back, with the new theme i am planning it should look the dogs bo**ocks when it is completed. Have a few little trick bits planned for it, fingers crossed i will pull them off, :ph43r:

Adrian,i think the word you are thinking of is what i will be shouting when i hit the gas on a bend, nose in the air while going thru the nearest hedge
Think i will have to experiment on a few carparks first to see how much of a handfull it is going to be, then from there determione how much weight is going to be needed to make it properly driveable, hopefully it won't be too much as i want a minimalist car as before.

Gonna lose the mudgaurds too as really do not like them, if i get pulled then i will have to plead ignorance or insanity again :ph43r:

its alive!!! just got the new fuel pump and a couple of other bits today, put them on and it fired up straight away. :)

Not sure if the neighbours appreciated it tho as there are no manifolds on the engine at the moment,
If anyone ever thinks of doing the same conversion the wiring is an absolute doddle.

streetfighterfug4 - December 19, 2007 09:02 AM (GMT)
hi Tigger, not too sure what the all up weight will be, as usual i will run no bodywork and nothing excessive to keep it down a bit, i have however weighted the front a bit to try help matters. :ph43r:
