Just completed an event I reckon a lot on here might be interested in next year called the Scally Rally. http://www.scallyrally.co.uk/

Aim is to buy a £100 car and if needed make it road legal and get to Calais. From there to Basel in Switzerland, Lake Como, Cortina and Rimini in Italy and then scrap the car. Or as we did drive back via Imola, Marranello, Monza, Nurburgring and Spa :D

If you've long memories you might recall we initially intended to do the rally in a Fug 2 as we'd bought a Beetle for £66 but we just did not have the time so used a Subaru Legacy GT Wagon instead.

I can honestly say I'm dead jealous and would have absolutly loved to have done that. I found out it was on when I saw a bit on the front of the local paper,a couple of guys were doing it from our way. I also have a little 1300 Metro I paid £30 for that I use whenever I don't want to leave my car somewhere,that would have done it fine.
I'll do my best for next year ;) Actually it's a long way so maybe not the Metro, a Granada or an XJ6 from the auctions should be the one. :D Good job the £100 doesn't include the fuel to Dover :D
