Title: Stoneleigh 2008
Knighty - January 9, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
I thought I'd start this thread now, as before we know it, early may well be just around the corner.....so the big questions whos up for it?.....I'm thinking we should easy have a minimum of 8 cars for 2008
Paul - can you please book the show area slot? just like last year will be fine
dates are SUNDAY the 4th and bank holiday MONDAY the 5th MAY......hey Ian - notice its not on saturday  .......
http://www.grosvenorexhibitions.co.uk/KitCar/KitCar.htmlIf your intending to stay over the SUNDAY night I'd highly reccomend the on-site hostel accomodation, it pi55ed down over night and on MONDAY morning last year and it made life much easier, all for £28......I will post the number after I have booked!.......you must ask for the hostel, as the hotel accomodation is always fully booked.
Tigger - January 10, 2008 09:55 PM (GMT)
Sounds good, hospitals notwithstanding I'll be there B)
Paul - January 11, 2008 05:26 PM (GMT)
Hi All,
The Stoneleigh show info pack arrived safely today. :D
We have the same club area as last year - 59M. Not a bad spot in my mind as it was near the hostel (convenient for those who like to sleep indoors!), one of the bars (always nice :P ) and close to the "For Sale barn" (so a reasonable flow of people). Unless anyone's got any real preference for getting another site - shout now - I won't alter this.
Can people reply to this list once they know they are coming and I'll add these to a definitive list, please include what vehicle you'll be bringing as well.
For those coming in a non kit-car it may be worth dropping me your mobile numbers. There may be a spare ticket available that allows a non kit-car in free
Would it be a good idea for those attending to PM me their mobile numbers and I'll distribute a complete list to everyone attending nearer the date? Could be handy for emergencies or just general meeting up.
I'll post some more of the info regarding camping and tickets up soon, but not much differs from last year.
Cheers
Paul.
SteveEmbo - January 13, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)
I will attend again. with only 40 0dd miles to travel I can't not. maybe have a BBQ and some beers?

NOW you're taliking!
Paul - January 13, 2008 11:39 PM (GMT)
BBQ and Beer sounds good, best take our own beer supply anyway as the bar without the dodgy disco ran out of beer by about 10pm last year!
streetfighterfug4 - January 15, 2008 10:43 AM (GMT)
hi guys, count me in again, depending on the weather i may stay over the 2 days,in the newly revised and much improved fug4. :ph43r:
Rob Reznik - January 15, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
If I'm allowed in with mine I'd also like to come along - its not road registered so would need to trailer it and get a coat of paint on - as I have a few military trucks I was thinking of spraying it sand colour so that I can also have some fun at the military shows :D
Rob
Knighty - January 16, 2008 01:42 PM (GMT)
nice one Rob, i think all you will need to do is trailer it to the main gate, then simply drive it in, dont plan on bringing a trailer into the show area, as I can assure you it will be grief.
so come on the rest of you?....whats your plans?......if any of you think its too far to drive, then you are gay :ph43r:
streetfighterfug4 - January 16, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
hi mate, think i will be there both days, will drive it up there again with the new lump in it.(providing the gearbox takes the extra power).will be back on the road in next couple of weeks so should have it well broken in way before the show. :)
Tigger - January 17, 2008 10:32 PM (GMT)
I think it will be the one day for me, probably the Sunday :ph43r:
Knighty - February 4, 2008 01:01 PM (GMT)

Knighty - March 17, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)

Paul - March 25, 2008 11:48 AM (GMT)
Tigger, pretty certain Fugieian's still going.
Depending on how it goes at Detling and in general with getting bits for the Fug I'm probably still going to pop up (in a boring car!)
Cheers
Paul.
Tigger - March 25, 2008 11:14 PM (GMT)
Paul,
Thanks for that, have we got a plot this year? If so where is it in relation to the main entrance?
Knighty - March 26, 2008 12:39 PM (GMT)

Tigger - March 28, 2008 09:21 PM (GMT)
Tigger - April 18, 2008 04:44 PM (GMT)
Paul,
Do we have a plot booked? And if so where is it?
Thanks B)
Paul - April 18, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
Hi Tigger,
It's Stand 59M, same as last year.
As mentioned earlier in the thread it's near the "for sale' barn -I'm away at the moment but will stick the map up when I'm back home. Essentially come through the kit car entrance (signed) and go straight till it gets busy and you can see large barns on your left - turn left into the field before the barns!
I'll PM you my mobile number, should be up there Sun/Mon hopefully.
Cheers
Paul.
Paul - April 28, 2008 09:46 PM (GMT)
If anyone's thinking of staying over on the Sunday night and doesn't fancy camping I can confirm they still have hostel type rooms available in the "Blackdown Village" area for £30 for a twin room. Booked mine today!

SteveEmbo - May 1, 2008 11:27 AM (GMT)
I have my Fug II taxed and tested and ready to be there on Monday the only thing that will stop me is the Whether lets hope its fine ish. The car has never been driven in the rain as yet, I will buy a small cover to throw over it if it does rain. so all is set. It sounds like I will have no trouble parking as the stand may not be packed. if it's just me it may make a good photo with just 1 car parked in the owners club area. if any one else is there on monday let me know
Tigger - May 1, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
I 'was' going Sunday...but the weather looks aweful for Sunday :(
May have to take something sensible :o
Can't do Monday
Paul - May 2, 2008 10:44 PM (GMT)
Hi All,
Just received a mail from the organisers, plot 59 is waterlogged!
Club stands from there have been moved to halls 6 to 12 on 6th Street. Signs should be outside each building.
There is also a grassed area opposite the building where tents/gazebos can be pitched.
For any problems on the day the marshals should be able to help.
Paul
Tigger - May 4, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
Phew! Just got back, well a couple of hours ago anyhow.
The Fugitive stand consisted of....me! But at least I finally got to meet Paul and his missus, and lovely people they were too, nice one guys :D
And I got to educate a couple of westfields on the way home which was great fun, I am always keen to point out to people that just because you don't know what it is, doesn't mean you can pck on me and win :P
fugieian - May 5, 2008 06:39 AM (GMT)
HI ALL,UNFORTUNATELY WORK HAS TAKEN OVER AT PRESENT,SO FUGIE WILL HAVE TO BE PUT ON HOLD FOR NOW,LOVED LAST YEAR THOUGH,REGARDS TO ALL WHO ATTEND THIS YEAR,SORRY I COULDNT.
Paul - May 5, 2008 11:12 PM (GMT)
Hi all,
It's late (needed food and a beer after the drive back!), but the photos are up.
Currently everything including blurry and sideways ones - I'll edit the gallery and put some of the smaller versions in this thread later, but you can find it here :
Stoneleigh 2008 photosWas great to meet up with both Tigger and SteveEmbo who got their very nicely sorted Fugs there - and cheers for the call fugieian, hopefuly you can make next year.
Cheers
Paul
Knighty - May 6, 2008 09:52 AM (GMT)
nice one guys, looks like Tiggar and Steve did well to get there, I must say having seen the weather reports I'm glad I didnt come, as its just too far for such shite weather to ruin things........I did a 3hr club 100 2-stroke enduro karting event at Lydd in Kent, a 1200m outdoor and very fast circuit, and it was the best days karting I have ever done, I even got sun burnt!
Heres looking forward to Stonor Park on Sunday the 1st June - so lets all book it with the missus!.......so far its me and Tigger........anyone else feel like coming?
mattd - May 6, 2008 04:39 PM (GMT)
just waiting for a few more bits to come before i mot the fug. Hopefully this week so if all goes well i think me and the missus may well come along and join the party.
Tigger - May 6, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
Paul,
Could you email me a couple of the photo's of my thing out on the grass please?
Many thanks B)
Paul - May 6, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
Tigger, if you hover your mouse over the photos on the right hand side of the gallery you should get a small fly-out menu appear.
This lets you view several larger versions of each photo and also has an option at the bottom to save the photo to your computer - this will save the very largest version of the photo.
Try that, if you can't see it for any reason or have any other problems then let me know and I'll happily email you a copy - it just means you can more easily choose which ones you save this way.
Cheers
Paul.
