Caloun, if it has the higher diff ratio, I will be very interested in having it off you, the ratio thats better for lower revs at motorway crusing, I'm sure you know the one, as I think you said you helped your mate do the conversion......3.88 springs to mind........whats the code on the casing?.......that will tell for sure........why do you think the 1500 is the stronger one?......

Checking my book 'ere the 1500 is 4.125:1 final drive

Wots it worth well I've seen them go for 100 notes but personnally I'd never ask more than 50 if I couldn't garentee it B)


The only 3.88:1 swing axle gearbox came off the 1600 GT which was only made for 1973....yep total anorak me :ph43r:

on that basis, I will probably just remove my box and take it down to cog-box for a 3.88 conversion, and a clean bill of health........have cleared out the garage today and its all ready for 1.5 to 1.7 transplant.......the next nipper arrives late march, so will have to get it all finished by then!
