Title: Wanted: IRS suspension

steve_vfr - April 28, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
I'm after the rear trailing arms (if that's what you call them) for the IRS setup.
Anyone got some they want to sell?
Ideally with drive shafts..

Steve

if you get stuck there is a Beetle workshop place near (Southend on Sea) me that have a fair few beetles they strip for parts.

They do sell parts.
I am just buying a Beetle hand brake and the mount from them.
I could enquire re the price.

If you could enquire, that would be really helpfull.
From photos I've seen it looks like the arms are pressed steel, rather than cast, is that the case as far as you know?

Thanks - with a bit of luck that's what I'll be doing over the bank holiday :D

Thanks Caloun,
I've just Emailed the guy to find out more.
Do you know if it's easy and or expensive to do a disk conversion? Or is it better to go for some model of Porsche that has disks as standard? - I guess this is a question for Tigger.

Cheers again

Steve

see here for a possible answer  Brakes

Otherwise you are probably best reposting your question in the technical section under steering brakes etc if this doesn't answer it. B)

This will help us all when someone is looking for an technical answer they will find your post there and any answer given. ;)

cheers
