well finally got it the mot sorted today just a few more jobs to do like trim the other seat and finish a few little bits and then i think you could call it done really. Have a look and see what you think.

Hi guys, thanx for the comments. Its a shame it wasn't ready for stoneleigh. a week two late but there is always next year. To be honest the photos don't do it justice, i will take some video pics of it soon and post. Would love to meet up at stoner but have my nephews thanks giving to go to and as yet cant seem to find a good excuse to get out of it. i don't think my sister sees a car show as a good enough reason. The wheels were on it when i got it. Didn't like them at first but gave em a good polish and now i love em. Think they give it that retro look. You probably cant see from photos but i spent two weeks filling and rubbing all the welds so now they are as smooth as a silk. The v8 runs well and pops back pretty good. Sounds awsome in a built up area. Been past 5 cop cars expecting to get a tug because of no mudgaurds but they just look at you and smile.

mattd what gearbox did you use in the conversion (sorry for boring question)

well the gearbox code is af o3 07 3. Says on a code list it is a 1500 with lsd but it deffo aint lsd. Had a problem when I tried to fit the clutch because it turns out my input shaft dosent match any kind of vw clutch. Turned out to be ford 25.4 mm and 23 splines. Nice heavy duty pinto clutch and its all sorted.
