Title: The new guy......
Description: I'm new to the forum

Hi,

Just managed to join the forum yesterday and will hopefully be looking to pick your brains as I get to grips with my latest project, a Fug 4.
I'm just coming to the end of a GP Mk2 rebuild (great time to finish eh? guess I didn't miss the 'summer' though!) having built a bit of a roll cage on the floorpan to stiffen it up after a few exciting drives where the chassis flexed more than the suspension.
The Fug is in need of a lot of work and is going to have to be a total strip and rebuild having been brush painted a fetching shade of Dulux sandstone, even the bodypanels (I kid you not, the dulux tin was included in the sale!). I may have to replace some of the chassis rails too as these have been done in the past but I can't see how well, all will be revealed when I get the paint off. The engine is shot too but I had some plans...especially having seen some of the members cars.
I'd also be interested to know whether you'd try and go for a dual setup so you can have road weels etc and then an offroad set too. I guess the compromise comes in suspension setup and geometry. I live very close to Salisbury plain and planned to use a few shortcuts whenever possible.
I'll try and uncover the beast at some point and get a photo up so you can point and laugh.

Hi,
There will be plenty of opinions, but as much as we all love these things we do see them all differently. Main option is on or off road look. Very true about having two sets of wheels, I've done that with 4x4s in the past, but who really goes to the trouble of keep changing them. Love to see some pics soon.

Welcome aboard B)

That's the great thing about Fugitives, so many different approachs. Of course there is only one true way and that is low and fast ;)

As you can see, there is clearly no prejudice when it comes to choices and opinions.. :D :D :D The only difference is, everyone's right. Mines been on the road nearly a year now, the time didn't pass that fast when it was in bits in the garage.

Cheers for the welcome guys, I'm looking forward to getting the project started :)

I've added a post in the gallery section with a link to my Flickr page as I took a couple of pics at the weekend. It certainly looks very different from the others.... I think my wife said that there was 'a lot of scope' with it... Dunno what she means :D

yeah, not that I'm biased or anything like that  .......but low and fast is da way to go B) B) B) B) .........but I can see your swaying the other way already.......in which case I would say take a close look at Toms fug-4 in the members cars section, its the camo green affair, its also on you-tube toing a bit of mud slinging, I'd say if your going off-road high ground clearance is a must, so you will need IRS for sure.........o yeah - welcome ;)

Yeah it is a tough decision and I was swaying to the street side when I saw the 2.9 V6 engined one, then I saw bob's off roader.... I think I am going to have to go somewhere inbetween if that's even possible. At the moment I'm enjoying all the possibilities, the problem starts when I have to actually DO it!!!
