Spotted this, needs a bit of work. Seems to have a few extra braces here and there. Was it something a bit special? Looks like its seen a bit of action!

I reckon the geometry is likely to be more accurate now than when UVA made it.   Only shame is, I'm probably right. At least we know what a frame will take, a little less than that one has, reckon it was fun doing it though.

Would those extra braces have been added after production then, or did UVA make models with extra strengthening? Did they not make a model for racing? Sorry so many questions......Im learning

I think it looks more like a chenowith which is a american sandrail which as you can see has got a lot more braceing and dosent use beetle framehorns for the rear suspension. If it wasnt so for i would buy it for bits.

I'm not the most expert on here by any means, but if you look at the pics of mine, that is the race frame. I know this, because I have the original receipt from UVA with chassis number stating it. The only alterations I've made are, the rear cradle under the engine and the little bars up the side of the engine. I also reversed the bars on the front to get the tank we made to fit better, but no more is added. Race frame is also a different tube to the standard Fugs. Also guess UVA would have made special adaptions to request on manufacture. A few of the bracing bars UVA done, are to my mind in the wrong place and at the wrong angle for maxium strength, that said even a standard Kit-car version would take some serious driving to bend so I'm pleased I wasn't a passinger in the one on Ebay.

Only saying it looks like a chenowith from what i can remember. I abused my rails and never bent more than a front beam and stearing doing jumps and other silly things. It would be interisting to know what happened to bend it like that.
