Title: Rear Suspension
Description: How many splines

100bob - April 28, 2009 10:04 PM (GMT)
Have now dropped the front of the Fug a couple of inches, am about to drop the back. I'm guessing three splines would be a good start point as mine is very high, full stretch to be honest, does this sound a fair start point? Got myself a set of twin 40s too, that's part of the need to lower it a bit as it's going from a bit twitchy to dangerous.

Way too much

try clockwise 2 outer then back one inner, this will give approx 3 inches if my memory serves right. Measure a point on the spring plate before and after on both sides so you get them the same B)

Have now dropped the back, spring plates were under far more pressure than can possibly have been necessary, which is clearly why it sat so high and the suspension was so hard. So we lined it up one spline lower than the travel stop, then prised it up and in, this was an estimate more than a guess, we'd like to think. However, it now sits with the driveshafts level and the suspension works as it should.
