Title: Fuggin on the Beach - VIDEO

smash - July 2, 2009 01:17 PM (GMT)
Hi guys - hought you might be interested in this video I just stuck on youtube.

It was filmed at Joe's Beach Bar near Skegness - the largest privately owned beach in Europe is there - they own it!

Anyway, Joes had it's inaugral dub event a couple of weekends ago and we got to go and play in the sand ;)

Unfortunately, there were a lot of no shows but I really hope Simon and Lee (the owners) run this again next year. I can't tell you how much fun it was - enjoy!

the event looks cracking.......shame its a tad far for me......would love to spank my fug-4 around there

Nah - not mine! I went up in Red buggy (my bro's) - we met up with the blue fug there. I had a drive of the buggy and the fug and they are quite different beasts - the wheelbase makes a big difference to power sliding (or not, lol!). Fug was very stable and felt perfectly suited to the environment - the buggy was just mad! (the 1914 lump does help tho). If I remember right the the engine was swopped before sale - it's a 1600 single port now I think (?)

Sadly, myself, brother and buggy went home on recovery truck after something gave in the lump - nasty clacking!

We went up from Southend so no excuses next year, lol!! :P

Should just point out that vid was done with only 1 camcorder (PITA to edit  )

That looks like a sodding good event.

Nice to see these cars on their spiritual home turf. Only times I managed to get mine on sand were in Wales (Black Rock Sands and Pendine) and they got a little funny about it - apparently I'd paid to park on the beach not hoon about!

Given I can see a RollerCoaster in the background (another "hobby" of mine) and that it includes camping next to a venue selling alcohol I can safely say I'd be up for this once the car's up and running again.
