Title: New Bonnets. Gauging interest.

Right.

I've finished the GRP work on my bike now so I'm thinking of starting work on the Fug body moulds.

It seems that a few people are looking for a new bonnet so that seems the sensible place to start.

First of all I need to know that I've got the right one. Can anybody out there tell me the overall length and width of a Fugitive 2 bonnet so that I can check mine.

Secondly what sort of surface finish do people want. Obviously if people want a self coloured gelcoat gloss finish the amount of work needed on the mould, and therefore the cost, will be higher than it would be if people simply need a flat finish which will be rubbed down and painted.

If there is enough genuine interest I'll cost it out and get started.

John

I've just been out and measured it.

It is roughly 170cm long, 90cm wide at the front and 120cm wide at the back including the small side sections.

Anybody know if it's an F2 bonnet?

Hi John,

Can't help with the size but sounds about right, did you try it on the car to see if it fits?

Obviously I need a bonnet, which would ultimately need spraying to match the rest of the panels. You can count me as a definite yes please.

thanks

Just found out I might be able to sort something out locally so i'm a maybe now. if your bonnet is not the right size I might be able to help if the more local plan comes off.....will let you know as soon as I can

That was a quick change of mind!

I can't try it on the car. The car is in Carlisle, the bonnet is in Newcastle.

yep, sorry about that but it turns out that Caloun (who offered to make you a mould on a different thread) lives down here in essex, and so do I...... kinda makes sense to do it locally if I can.

Like the reason for not trying your bonnet on the car!!!
